OtakuDome: Battlefield 4 Beta Thoughts

Otaku Dome's Battlefield 4 Beta Thoughts: Today on Otaku Dome we will be sharing our initial thoughts on Battlefield 4 from our play through of the online beta. We will be using the different perspectives of different staff including myself. Read on below to check out our thoughts. Victor: A few days ago I played the Battlefield 4 beta, it wasnt that bad honestly. Im not much of an FPS person, and I dont recall playing very much of BF3, though admittedly as soon as I bought the game, the first thing I did was jump into multiplayer instead of campaign, which is rare for me to do with any game, especially an FPS. Cory: I havent been able to play a multiplayer fps since Modern Warfare 2, I tried battlefield 3 but could never get hooked. Battlefield 4 from the little I have seen so far has improved the system a lot from previous titles. Making the battle so epic, That skyscrapers are falling all around you. Aside from random lag, and a few balancing issues with the weap...

News: Infinity Ward: There was no way we were going to do Modern Warfare 4

Added: 26.09.2013 10:00 | 9 views | 0 comments

Call of Duty creator knew it needed a break from Modern Warfare as soon as it finished MW3.

Speaking to us this week about the decision to develop a new sub-brand in the Call of Duty series with Call of Duty: Ghosts, Palacios revealed that, "After Modern Warfare 3 ended, we already knew from the beginning that we didn't want to do another one. There was no way we were going to do another one. We wanted to go in a new direction."

Palacios explained that Ghosts offered Infinity Ward the opportunity to "craft a story that gave players an origin synopsis into why you want to care about these characters.

"We never did with any characters in Modern Warfare," she...

Preview : Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS4)

Infinity Ward want Ghosts to close the door on the Modern Warfare era. The question is how, when it's so utterly similar?

Changes have been made, some of them major, a lot of them seemingly minor but no less important. Your minimap is now larger, more rectangular, showing you more of the battlefield. Your K/D ratio and leaderboard placement is now shown in the top right hand corner of the screen, eliminating the need for constant presses of Select/Back (it will also curb the huge frustration of being killed while checking the score).

Movement, too, has been changed for the better. Infinity Ward has talked at length about the new mantling, lean and slide mechanics, and in practice they work exactly...

News: Call of Duty: Ghosts handed PEGI 16 rating

Added: 26.09.2013 9:33 | 17 views | 0 comments

Last year's Black Ops 2 and 2011's Modern Warfare 3 were rated 18.

This is despite promotional material for the game featuring an 18 certificate.

The lower rating makes Ghosts the first 16-rated home console Call of Duty in the last five years.

Since PEGI took over age ratings for video games, 2011's Modern Warfare 3 and 2012's Black Ops 2 were awarded 18 ratings. The BBFC previously gave 2009's Modern Warfare 2 an 18 and 2010's Black Ops an 18 certificate.

However, PEGI did rate last year's PlayStation Vita title Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified a 16.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released November 5.

Is Call Of Duty Dead?

Added: 13.09.2013 5:24 | 6 views | 0 comments

Mark of Corrupted Cartridge writes "With a new Call Of Duty coming out almost yearly I'm beginning to wonder if the franchise is dead and if their is any reason (besides money) for Treyarch and Infinity Ward to keep releasing games in this series. The single player section of many of the games were great but I feel that now the Modern Warfare trilogy has finished there aren't many other directions that I can think of that they can take the series in. "
